SUN (Symbolic Universal Notation)

The global Deaf community is one of the largest unreached people groups in the world. It is estimated that close to 80% of Deaf children never attend school, and only 1-2% receive an education in sign language. This discrepancy leads to language deprivation, high rates of illiteracy, isolation, and huge barriers to Scripture access. Until now.

SUN (Symbolic Universal Notation) was created to meet this need. SUN is a pictorial representation of Scripture that is universal and easy to learn. It is made up of one hundred core symbols that are the building blocks for the rest of the language. Using a symbolic system of writing, they can read God's Word for themselves. Your gift as a translation partner will make it possible for Deaf communities to receive the Bible in their heart language for the first time.
