I am a MAST facilitator for South East Asia.
Most of my life I volunteered as an ESL, conversational, and basic computer teacher and children’s minister in my church having devotions for new immigrants coming to Canada. Every day I feel the sense of closeness in my community and it makes me feel connected to people and builds my social network.
Southeast Asia is composed of eleven countries of impressive diversity in religion, culture and history: Brunei, Burma (Myanmar), Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. The only weapon that will ever effectively won the war against extremist, disease, hunger, poverty, and injustice is Asia is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our vision is to see “the Bible in every language by 2025.” It’s a God-sized vision. Not humanly possible.
I want to leave a legacy that perpetuates me, my ideals, and my cause. I want to be seen as a leader/role model. I feel fortunate and want to give something back to others. “It's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.”
